  1. Nice list. But, I never used pee pads in my dog's carrier, choosing instead to use diapers, before I knew that they wouldn't go during the flight. I also always give mine food and water during the flight, if they want any. One item to add to your list would be to introduce your dog to the carrier at least a few days before the flight so they will do better spending a long time in it, and, if you can, put one of their towels in the bottom so the carrier has a familiar smell to it.

  4. Really great tips. You thought of everything to make Xanti comfortable. Two things I can add.
    1) During or after takeoff you may want to give a treat to reduce the pressure in his ears from takeoff. The chewing will reduce this. This is why passengers chew gum around takeoff.
    2) Have a β€œ Titer test” done before vaccination. The test will measure the dogs antibodies which will determine whether he needs a vaccination. He may have enough antibodies and not need a vaccine. Your veterinarian can then issue a certificate for the airline.
