Cheap DIY NANOLEAF AURORA – Can it be done?!

  1. Eeeeeh, this took more time then I planned… as always! Been procrastinating a bit by watching CEOs laugh at non-working dolphins.

  2. This gave me an idea for my diy led aquarium lights.
With more modules I could emulate some cool cloud and lighting effects across the aquarium, also emulate the sun transition across the sky and the moon cycles. I just need to replace led strips with high power leds and figure a way of transitioning same effect from module to module. Also dimming to emulate the solar and moon cycles are a must.

  3. amazing project man appreciate the great work i am starting to build one of these on my own will the leds show with diffusers if they are mounted on the face of the panel wit 1 cm thickness?

  4. Why did you use the voltage stepdown and a logic level shifter?
The ESP32 can be powered via the Vin port and the voltage must be between 7 and 12 volts. Why can't you just use the d19 port directly on the leds?

  5. Its $300.00 plus for a 3d printer , plus you have to pay for the leds and the controllers. Fucking retarded! Might as well buy a real Aurora which would cost you $200.00 without any of this shit hassle, what a shit video!

  6. Impressive! One question: how do you control each strip separately if they're all connected in serie? How do you identify each one? Thank you! 🙂

  7. i wouldve went with strips with more densely packed LEDs, I have some that i use for the led lighting on my desk and the "blocky" effect of the lighting is completely gone. But this is amazing nonetheless.
